A fantastic prize from Baen

Deadline is 1 April in the third annual Baen Fantasy Adventure Award.

The Grand Prize winner will be published as the featured story on the Baen Books main website and paid at industry-standard professional rates, and also receive an engraved award and a package containing $500 of Baen Books and merchandise. Second place winner will receive $500 worth of books and merchandise. The third place winner, $300 worth.

Submissions may be in any genre of adventurous fantasy – high, epic, heroic, sword and sorcery, contemporary, urban, etc – and should be no longer than 8,000 words. Stories should involve heroes or heroines who solve problems either by their wits or with weapons. Traditional fantasy elements such as dragons, elves, dwarves, castles under siege, damsels in distress, or damsels who inflict distress, are all welcome.
