When Richard Cooke and his partner Michael Taylor decided to move out of London, they spent a year and-a-half looking along the south coast for the perfect spot to escape to the country. ‘We were disappointed when a house we liked in Dorset fell through,’ remembers Richard. ‘But then we saw this house for sale online and thought it was beautiful.’ The couple immediately set off to Somerset to view the house and, from the moment they stepped in the front garden, instantly knew they’d found their home. ‘We knew it was the one we were looking for,’ he enthuses. ‘We went in and looked round just the once but that was enough, we bought it.’
