A FINE REBOOT FOR LIVE 8
JULY 2 , 2005
His Classic Pop Moment should have been seated behind a piano for a simple yet triumphant performance of Let It Be at 1985’s Live Aid, but technical issues put paid to that. Luckily for McCartney, he had the chance to repair the damage 20 years later for Live 8 in Hyde Park. Beginning the event with a rare performance of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band with Bono, Paul later returned for a five-song set of Beatles tracks that ended with the inevitable grand finale of Hey Jude, a singalong with most of the cast – and much of the world.
