Look – up in the sky! It’s a search engine, it’s a chatbot, it’s a browser - it’s Perplexity Comet! And it promises to let you do anything, which is a bold claim. Even Superman has his limits. As a fan of Perplexity’s AI-powered ‘answer engine’ (www.perplexity.ai), I’ve been eager to try its new AI browser Comet since it launched in July. But I certainly wasn’t going to pay $200 (about £150) a month for the privilege, so was pleased when – as we explained in our Cover Feature in Issue 721 (page 56) – Perplexity made Comet available for free in October.
