Everyone needs a support team My husband [David Carry, Scottish ex-Olympic swimmer] understands the sacrifices that I have to make for sport. After London 2012, a lot of people were expecting me to stop. But having David's support helped me to carry on. I also have an incredible, close knit group of family and friends who understand that swimming is such a massive part of my life.
Nerves are all part of the process Lots of people see them as a bad thing, but it's important to understand what those feelings are for. en I'm nervous, I know it's my body preparing itself to get me in the right headspace before a race. Once I walk into the stadium, the noise of 30,000 people cheering is breathtaking.
