Eastern Airways’ recent decision to withdraw its service between Stornoway and Aberdeen has been raised with First Minister Nicola Sturgeon by Alasdair Allan, SNP MSP for Na h-Eileanan an Iar. the service ended on Friday and islanders were only notithed four weeks ago, without consultation.
Ather raising the issue at first minister’s questions in parliament, Dr Allan said the decision was at odds with previous statements from the company, which had historically outlined a commitment to the service and to island connectivity. the company also announced an expansion to this particular service, with increased ights just seven months ago, in March.
