I don’t know about you, but for me, August is BBQ month. They range from elaborate events with a full menu planned, to quick and easy for a midweek dinner. There’s just something about cooking outside that feels like summer, and we vegans are now so lucky that we don’t have to compromise at all. Whether you’re stocking up on meat replacements, or grilling veggies, you definitely don’t need to go hungry this BBQ season!
With that in mind, I’m really excited about the BBQ recipes that we’re sharing in this issue. We’ve got hot dogs, kebabs, and plenty of sides – salads, potatoes and even a delicious mocktail. Try some of them at your garden parties this year and let us know how you get on!
And as the temperatures rise (hopefully), we’re also helping to cool things down with a selection of ice cream ideas. And we’re encouraging you to get the kids in the kitchen this month; cooking with children is a great way to teach them about food, and build healthy habits. Check out our ideas for recipes they’ll love to cook themselves, or eat (or both!).
Rounding off the recipes this month is a bunch of ideas that use five ingredients or fewer, perfect for when you’re looking for something quick and easy! And we’re also sharing some recipes that use turmeric – a bit of a wonder spice, and something most of you probably use a lot in your cooking.
