Christmas is a time for books. In fact, it is estimated that a third of all book sales in the UK take place in the run up to Christmas. (That’s some 63 million books, for those who are counting.) And what better time of year to curl up with a good book than when the nights are at their longest, the log fire is burning, and the Christmas decorations are adding that extra twinkle of atmosphere?
So with book buying at its peak, and more people reading at this time of year, what’s the business case for writing some festive fiction? Could adding a little Christmas cheer to your latest plot add some seasonal sparkle to your sales?
