STAR OF THE SEASON
“With their delicate aroma, velvety blush skin and sunshine yellow flesh, peaches bring a burst of joy to the fruit bowl and mark the arrival of summer proper (I’ve been counting the days since spring). Paired with cream and gooey meringue, baked into a pie or griddled and served with parma ham, the sweetly sharp notes of this stone fruit add balance to recipes – and the welcome flavours of a warm summer’s day.”

WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR
White peaches tend to be sweeter and more delicate than the yellow-fleshed variety, which have plentiful flavour and juicy tang. Look for fruit with unblemished skin that feel yieldingly ripe but still firm. The aroma should be alluringly sweet.
