September brings shorter days and the magnificent quality of light we’ve missed during the summer. The stretch S from harsh midday sun to golden hour is gone and evening portraits become a pleasure again. I love shooting at golden hour and for portraits, the evening is best. The warmth of the day is still there, especially if it’s an Indian summer. Sunset generally occurs between 7pm and 8pm at this time of year and you get around 30 minutes of light.
