“What keeps me coming back to Clarissa is the response you get from the public. It’s incredible. I don’t know if it’s because I had a big storyline in the series that went out this year. The care home episode, One Day. Maybe because of that, or because I’ve been in a major show regularly for six years, I get stopped so much in the street. People love the character. They love the wit. I’m a very darkly humoured, sarcastic woman at the best of times, and my character is as well. That’s probably why I got the job, because it wasn’t a great acting stretch for me. I love the fact that in a world of death and darkness and crime and violence, I get to bring in the gallows humour. That’s what I enjoy.”
