Our homes – the spaces we build for ourselves – say a lot about the person we are, or the person we want to be. After 20 years of sharing a space with her husband, 52-year-old Kate Bouverie from Kent is discovering herself, and creating her very own calming cocoon in the process.
“This is my bedroom. It is my place of sanctuary from the busyness and struggles of daily life. Since falling in love with a woman and separating from my husband, I now have a bedroom for one, after more than 20 years of sharing the space. “Since September I mostly have the house to myself, as my three children are all now away at university, so it’s just me, along with my needy cat, who doesn’t get much attention now the kids are away.
