GRIDLOCK
Escape from New New York! But how – when there’s something terrible lurking at the bottom of its smoggy motorway?

Most of Gridlock takes place in New New York’s undercity and its subterranean motorway – settings inspired by the freaky future visions contained between the covers of the cult British sci-fi comic 2000 AD. For example: in the Judge Dredd saga Cry of the Werewolf (1983), famously fascistic Mega-City One lawman Dredd descended into his own undercity… which turned out to be the remains of the original New York. Similarly, the subterranean motorway would seem to resemble the Travel Tubes of Termight –a vast underground highway full of flying vehicles originally seen in Terror Tube (1980), the strip that introduced the world of Nemesis the Warlock.
