A progress report on the games we just can’t quit
As the Red Marley welcomes its final recruits, we can’t help but note the irony. Among the new mini-campaigns and locations added by Shadow Gambit’s two DLC expansions, arriving simultaneously, one crew member steals the limelight:
Yuki, a young ninja armed with proximity mines and a pet tanuki, just as she was in Shadow Tactics: Blades Of The Shogun, Mimimi’s first game in the style that would become its hallmark. Not that this was guaranteed at the time – as told in E351, the game looked like it might be the studio’s last. Instead, it led to the contract for Desperados III, and subsequently to this self-published full stop on a loose trilogy of games.
