Lost Ark
The quality of this Korean hybrid of MMORPG and ARPG depends heavily on how well those two sides of its personality combine at any given moment. At its best, you guide a preposterously powerful character through fantastic dungeons and partake in astonishing (and often delightfully weird) set-pieces. At its worst, you slog through paper-thin quests for uninspired loot required to access the next part of the story.
The one area where Lost Ark consistently shines is its combat, which furnishes its seven base classes with an array of spectacular powers from the off, turning them into walking gods by the time you reach the endgame.
