When considering the ranks of terrible cinematic dads, don’t forget Colonel Miles Quaritch, Avatar’s bastard-hard antagonist and biological father to Spider (Jack Champion), the human kid with close ties to the Sully family. And, according to actor Stephen Lang, Quaritch’s parental skills are unlikely to improve come the next instalment: Avatar: Fire And Ash. “Are things going to get all loveydovey?” he barks at Empire. “It’s doubtful, pal.”
