THE LAST phase of repairs to Barmouth Viaduct is to close the stucture and a section of the Cambrian Coast Line for 13 weeks in the autumn.
Since 2020, principal contractor Alun Griffiths and Network Rail have been working on carefully reconstructing the metal sections of the Grade-II* listed structure. Also as part of the plan to conserve the 154-year-old structure, teams have replaced many of the viaduct’s timber beams and undertook additional timber strengthening work.
