Australian Country  |  issue 23.6
We’ve traversed Australia from coast to coast in search of some fabulous stories about rural and regional people and their lifestyles and businesses. We started with the wonderfully adaptable and intertwined Munsie family in Warialda in northern NSW, where we learned about their lives on the land and the many diversifications that keep their businesses thriving. Then we visited their rellies, the fabulous artist Kate Owen and her husband, Mick, at their home and studio in nearby North Star. Over the border in Queensland, we feature a stunning subtropical home at Maleny in the hills behind the Sunshine Coast, while we also ventured to South Australia, where Naomi Hughes lives in Aldinga and runs a homewares store and B&B in the Temperence Precinct. It’s hard to believe Christmas is just around the corner, so if you’ve been caught napping, you’ll be keen to have a look at our gift guide, which unearths lots of wonderful, quirky treats guaranteed to please even the most difficult recipients on your list. We’ve travel, shopping and design inspiration in all our regular features.
