Buying an all-in-one PC like this one from Taiwanese company MSI is a bit like buying a mini PC with a monitor that’s permanently attached to it. Getting everything together in the same case is a significant convenience, but the downside is that you’re stuck with that monitor for the life of the PC.

This means the quality of the monitor is all important. The AP242P has an IPS screen with a 1920x1080-pixel resolution. We measured the peak brightness at 280cd/m2, which is fine for indoor use, while its colour accuracy is certainly good enough for general Windows work, recreating 92.7 per cent of the sRGB standard and 65.6 per cent of DCI-P3.
