HOME COOKING, FROM TOP Saliha’s family, like her cooking, has its roots in Pakistan; baked beans are her son’s favourite; the children had to graduate to stirring the pot; pakoras aren’t the healthiest but she loves them
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
I was born into a family where food was important. My grandmother, who came from Pakistan, would take organic chicken and potatoes, mash them up with garlic and spices and feed them to me from when I was six months old. In our house you had to eat what was given to you, but what was given to you was very good.
