1 PRIORITISE BREAKFAST
‘Try to eat within half an hour of getting up, to stabilise blood sugar levels and set up your metabolism, energy levels and nervous system for the day. Some people say they can’t stomach food first thing, but if you don’t eat, your hunter-gatherer brain will tell itself you’re living in a world that’s unsafe, so you’ll stay in hyper-vigilant mode. Try something small, like half a piece of toast with nut butter, or a smoothie with chia seeds, ground almonds and yoghurt, then you can always have something more substantial later on.’
