What we’re eating now
We don’t often feature the humble spud in healthy – usually tending to include sweet potatoes in our recipe pages instead. However, we Brits have a soft spot for them – a recent poll* reveals they’re our favourite ingredient. Cheap, filling and non-processed, they’ve got some sterling health benefits, too – they’re a source of fibre, potassium and folate, and have higher amounts of resistant starch than the sweet variety, which aids digestion and reduces insulin sensitivity.
