A North Connel man has been fined £300 for being in possession of cannabis.
Andrew MacMillan, 39, of 10 Benmore View, pleaded guilty when he appeared at Oban SherifiCourt on Wednesday February 27. Procurator fiscal Eoin McGinty said that when police were carrying out an inquiry into another matter at MacMillan’s address, they smelled cannabis.
ATher receiving permission to search the premises, oficers recovered 49 grams of the class B drug. In MacMillan’s defence, solicitor Kevin McGinness said the drug is used for medical purposes and helps to alleviate symptoms of ADHD. ‘He has discussed his use with medical advisers and has been given indication that it may very well assist him.’
