■ The March meeting of the Lochaber Local History Society will see Ken Johnston speak on The Rise, Fall and Rise Again of a Highland School. Now resurrected from its ruinous state and transformed into the new local Highland Council headquarters, Ken will tell the story of the building, from its design through to its rebuilding, including its last-minute rescue from demolition some years ago. As Lochaber’s planning officer at the time, Ken will tell this story for the first time. Come and learn more at 8pm tonight (Thursday March 7) at the Ben Nevis Hotel. All welcome.
