Taynuilt youngsters enjoying using the new nets include Reece Lawrie, Rosie Jameson, Kyle MacFarlane and Jamie Dunsmore.
Taynuilt sports hub has netted an unusual thank you from a fish farm’s five-a-side football team who regularly use its all-weather pitch to play on Tuesdays. On one of their visits, Dawnfresh workers Gari Watson and Ewan Murray spotted the goalposts were in need of new nets and came up with the idea of turning one of their fish farm’s nets into the football variety. The team returned to the sports hub last week to put up the new nets. Gari, a farm technician at Dawnfresh, said: ‘The staff at Taynuilt sports hub kindly let us use their pitch for football and we wanted to find a way to say thank you. ‘Transforming one of the nets from our fish farm into goal nets was an unusual idea but we knew they would be put to good use by our team and other players.’
