LAST MONTH, WE analyzed the hypnotic, cyclical rhythmic pattern featured in the Led Zeppelin classic “Kashmir” and learned how to count it a couple of different ways. I then offered a few “spin-off” variations on it that I came up with, which posed a fun challenge to play, count and tap your foot to. I’d now like to show some additional, similarlystyled rhythmic patterns, which I think serve as effective vehicles for mastering 16th-note syncopations and grooves.
