Seven years after Prince William’s wedding, his younger brother Prince Harry followed suit on 19 May 2018 with his own walk down the aisle.
The 33-year-old former soldier had fallen head over heels in love with Californian actress Meghan Markle, three years his senior, and the public, too, was charmed. Meghan was hailed as bringing a breath of fresh air to the palace, where her mixed heritage would be an asset for the modern royal family. An atmosphere of joyful inclusivity and showbusiness glamour surrounded the nuptials.
