THE PRINCE’S TRUST
Charles’s desire to help young people has transfor med more than a million lives since he set up his charity almost 50 years ago
Charles enjoys a party in Birmingham with 1,000 underprivileged children to celebrate his 40th birthday in 1988, and tries out a recumbent cycle in Manchester.
All smiles when greeting Rod Stewart at the Prince’s Trust All-Star Rock Concert in 1986,
It is high among his achievements, a cause that has touched and transformed the lives of more than a million young people and will help even more while he is King.
The Prince’s Trust, which was founded by the then Prince of Wales in 1976, as a key part of his mission to help unemployed and disadvantaged youngsters, has grown into one of the most successful funding organisations in Britain.
STAYING CLOSE
And although Charles has taken on new responsibilities since becoming monarch, he remains president of the trust, which is now the UK’s leading youth charity and still addresses causes close to his heart.
