SIR DAVID ATTENBOROUGH
JOINED BY CHILDREN IN RICHMOND PARK

It all began when the monarch watched her son Prince Charles plant a sapling in the grounds of Windsor Castle to launch the Queen’s Green Canopy scheme in 2021.
Since then, more than one million new trees have been planted in honour of her 70-year reign, and last week Sir David Attenborough contributed to the Queen’s lasting legacy by giving a masterclass in tree-planting to junior foresters in London’s Richmond Park, as he officially opened its new four-acre Platinum Jubilee Woodland. In a touching gesture, the natural historian – who was also joined by TV presenter Clare Balding – chose the young oak himself, in homage to Her Majesty.
