THE PRINCESS OF WALES
The Princess of Wales has made it her mission to support young children, with a spokesperson for Kensington Palace once saying that early years development will be a “golden thread throughout her working life”.
The mother of three believes that by giving youngsters a healthy and happy start to life, we can help prevent problems in adulthood. Her commitment to children led to the creation of The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood in June 2021, and in January, she launched Shaping Us, an awareness campaign dedicated to the importance of these first years.
“By focusing our time, energy and resources to build a supportive, nurturing world around the youngest members of our society, we can make a huge difference to the health and happiness of generations to come,” Kate said. hello!’s royal editor Emily Nash says: “She has a natural affinity with children and young people and never fails to include them in conversations. She makes a point of crouching down to their level, if they’re small, so she can engage and listen to what they tell her.”
On a visit to Little Village’s hub in Brent to hear how the baby bank helps local families, hands-on Kate rolled up her sleeves to help volunteers bundle up clothes.
Catherine Roche, chief executive of children’s mental health charity Place2Be, of which Kate is patron, tells us: “She has always shown the greatest compassion and kindness, bringing warmth, connection and humility to every interaction.”
In an often challenging world, there’s never been a more important time to shine a light on kindness. In celebration of World Kindness Day on 13 November, HELLO! is proud to present our fourth Kind List. The focus this year is on those in the spotlight who channel their kind nature into helping children and young people. We hope you enjoy reading why we have selected these ten deserving names and join us in spreading positivity and kindness all year round. For more on the Kind List, visit hellomagazine.com.

MICHELLE OBAMA
Former First Lady Michelle may have used her time in the White House as an opportunity to give back to the younger generation, but it’s a mission she’s been carrying out since she was a young girl – and one that continues today.
