Peru: A Journey in Time
PAID ENTRY The British Museum, London, 11 November 2021 – 20 February 2022, britishmuseum.org
Throughout its long and storied history, the area that now forms modern Peru has been home to a wide variety of cultures and civilisations. As such, the South American country is famous for its rich archaeological treasures, including items dating back to the rule of the powerful Wari (AD 600–900) and Inca (AD 1400–1532) empires.
To mark 200 years since Peru gained independence from Spain, the Museo de Art de Lima has teamed up with the British Museum to host a new exhibition, enabling UK audiences to see dozens of rare Peruvian objects for the first time.
