Part 4: The Great Upcycling Challenge
It’s all well and good dreaming of a home fit for a queen, but how do you actually go about achieving that perfect look on a super-tight budget? The answer isn’t simple, but the good news is it is doable. With just a little imagination, some very basic DIY skills and a helping hand from industry experts, those ideal interiors are just a lick of paint away. Luckily, we know just the people to get you started... In part four of The Great Upcycling Challenge, HomeStyle designers Amanda Russell and Juliet Bawden transform six everyday objects into the most incredible one-off pieces, which could easily be mistaken for designer goods. They began by creating a storage unit from Ikea Moppe boxes, they then worked their magic on an old retro sideboard, a collapsible chair, a collection of dated china and a peg board from Amazon, before sprucing up a bare wall. You can vote for your favourite make by tweeting #charityshopsweep or #highstreethack with the name of the project to @homestylemaguk.
