Bubble hunting

Beneath flocking gulls, these humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) are feasting on fresh fish. Known as bubblenet feeding, when humpbacks get together they hunt cooperatively by blowing bubbles from their blowholes to stun schools of fish. One whale leads the group by blowing a ring of bubbles to trap the school, while the others round up the fish and drive them to the surface.
