Margaret Bourke-White was an American photojournalist and one of the first female war correspondents during World War II. In this striking image, Bourke-White is focusing her camera on the metropolis of New York City while perched on the head of one of the eagle-head gargoyles at the top of the Chrysler Building, hundreds of metres from the ground. This image was shot by artist Oscar Graubner in 1935.
