While zipping 257 miles above Lake Michigan, NASA astronaut Don Pettit snapped this breathtaking view of Earth from the International Space Station. It captures city lights streaking across Earth, along with the glow of red and green aurorae. Pettit and his Expedition 72 crewmates are spending six months on the ISS, conducting a variety of scientific experiments while in space.
