Evidence shows that some dinosaurs could survive cold, dark winters
For a long time, both experts and the public believed dinosaurs only thrived in tropical regions. But imagine everyone’s surprise when fossil evidence proved they had a much larger range. It may seem unlikely, but our perception of dinosaurs is changing, as recent fossils have shown that dinosaurs also called much colder places home. One such chilly habitat was the landmass now known as Australia. Today this region is far from cold, but 65 to 100 million years ago it was considerably further south, resting next to the continent of Antarctica.
