BBC-We See You

Sirs,

I write to you not in anger but in deep concern about the role our UK national broadcaster plays in shaping public perception – especially regarding Scotland.

Two examples, shared widely online, expose a pattern that raises troubling questions. In the lead-up to the 2014 independence referendum, the BBC ran headlines suggesting the North Sea oil industry was nearing its end. Yet, astonishingly, just one month after the vote, the same outlet hailed technological advances that could stretch oil production by decades. This conveniently timed optimism, only revealed after Scotland chose to remain in the Union, cannot be dismissed as mere editorial coincidence.
