American Miniaturist  |  Issue 257
With the closing of a major fabric chain in my area I decided to explore other options around me. A friend and I took off on an adventure and ended up in Pennsylvania at a charming quilt store in a very old building. I was thrilled to find so many quality fabrics that would work perfectly for my upcoming projects. As miniaturists we are natural born hunters when we need supplies that will carry out our creative visions. We will search far and wide for them without a second thought!
I suppose there are a bunch of us that are also mad scientists. Experimentation with different mediums and tools is very important in our art form. That’s why I believe reading AM is so important for builders and makers. Every artist that shares their work in this publication informs readers about their techniques and tips. Three artists can use the same material to make something but have different ways to proceed that give different results.
When you are following a mini tutorial, please don’t be afraid to add your own spin on the instructions if you want to experiment. All of us have something important to contribute to our community in wonderfully
creative ways!
