STEPH TWELL says she is back to preparing for races as her old self after overcoming a nightmarish ankle break in 2011 which put her career in jeopardy.
Twell ran a season’s best Olympic qualifying time of 14:59.00 in Rome for the 5000m – her second quickest for the distance – and feels she is now past the injury woes.
She said: “I’m on that platform now where I’m going into races like I used to as a junior. I’m through the injury. I’m putting all my training in place, all my S&C in place and in a good place. It’s exciting ahead of the trials.”
