EUROPEAN silver medallist and one of the future stars of British athletics, Matthew Hudson-Smith, will compete in a world-class field over 400m at the Birmingham Diamond League in June.

As a member of Birchfield Harriers, Hudson-Smith knows the Alexander Stadium track better than most, but will face a stern test against reigning Olympic champion Kirani James, former African record-holder Isaac Makwala, Asian record-holder Yousef Masrahi – all three are sub-44 men – and 2013 world 800m champion Nijel Amos.
