Matthieu Jost, 37, is the French entrepreneur who owns and runs misterb&b, the holiday-rental website created for the LGBT+ market. The idea for the platform came to him seven years ago when he and a boyfriend were asked to leave a room they had rented for a holiday in Barcelona because the owner did not want two gay men sleeping in the bedroom next to hers.

What was your first venture into business?

I launched my own company when I was 17 and still in school. It was a website dedicated to TV shows and became one of the largest platforms for TV shows in France. I ran the website for four years then I sold it to Allocine, a French version of imdb.com.
