Classic Truck Magazine No.9 Rare Breed Edizione posteriore

English
11 Recensioni   •  English   •   Aviation & Transport (Automotive)
Starting on page six, we’ve got some great news items, including reaction
to the Malvern Classic Truck Enthusiast Show, the sale of Eddie Stobart and a wonderful birthday event held to honour a true ‘Knight of the Road’. We’ve reviewed another couple of great books about trucks (page 10), and we speak to a man who restored a Scammell Crusader (page 12), building it as a recovery truck for his coach firm, but didn’t finish it before retiring, so now it’s a show truck! Peter Davies shines the spotlight on DAF’s 2800-series – once a popular fleet truck (page 18), and we feature a rare Renault G-series tractor from Northern Ireland that has been restored to an amazing standard See that on page 26. Many people will have heard of Dorset based family firm, Antell’s and their heavy
haulage business. Classic Truck paid them a brief visit to see some of their modern classics (page 32). There’s more classics at work in the 1980s and 1990s as seen through Peter Davies’s camera lens (page 34) and our centre spread this month shows a fabulous Foden Alpha logging outfit mud plugging through a forest (page 38). We visit a paint sprayer from Wales, known affectionately as Dai Badge, who has a penchant for American iron (page 40) and take a look back through our archives at
some more odds and ends in our Nostalgia section (page 46). The Fingal Vintage Show is an annual event that takes place in Ireland and is growing in size and stature (page 48), and Wobbe Reitsma has sent us some more superb shots of classics from the Netherlands (see page 50). Stephen Forster (page 54) has again come up trumps with some shots of working classics he’s managed to snap while out and about, and we’ve a report on a well-restored Volvo F88 which starts on page 56. Meanwhile, The Vault this month carries a story on an unusual agreement between an American engine manufacturer and a Russian truck maker (page 68). Stranger things have happened – allegedly! We hope you e njoy the magazine.
