Knitting  |  Aug-19
This month’s issue of Knitting is all about colour. We are looking at how different shades can influence your mood and how knitting can become part of a healing process if you tune into your feelings and choose shades that will help you with whatever you need, whether that be cheering up, relaxing or just simply being.
We’ve got a collection of 26 glorious summery knits in citrus shades perfect for hot holiday crafting- or to brighten up any grey British summer days. Including Bronagh Miskelly’s beautiful Fern Lace Top with pretty lace band and button details in a fiery hand-painted yarn by Malabrigo; Jacinta Bowie’s sunny Riviera Cardigan in a radiant yellow yarn and all over lace and cable pattern; Jo Allport’s Gwen sweater in a vibrant reddish-orange with breezy textured holes; and Caroline Burkett’s Split Back Top with cute knot stitch panel and moss stitch borders in a warm coral tone. We’ve also got a guest column from Jeanette Sloan, a writer, teacher, designer and regular Knitting contributor about the on-going heated discussion on racism and inclusivity in the knitting world. We interviewed Suzy Chiazzari a colour therapist and psychologist to investigate the way visible light and colour affects our physical and mental states and how you can use mood-enhancing qualities of different colours to improve your health and wellbeing. So with all that plus all our regular features, you’ll find plenty of things to keep you occupied in the August issue of Knitting, out now!
