People are experiencing significantly more stress, anxiety and depression since the COVID-19 lockdown began earlier this year, with women and young people the most affected, according to a major new study.
A total of 3,097 adults joined the COVID-19 Stress and Health Study, led by researchers at the University of Nottingham and King’s College London, which was carried out in the first six weeks of social restriction measures being introduced across the UK.
The study was designed to look at the effects of the pandemic on the mental health of people living in the UK and examine whether experiences like increased stress, anxiety and depression might be affecting physical health.
