Two local therapists have teamed up to offer a two-day wellbeing retreat in the heart of the South Downs. Su Orosa, a wellbeing facilitator, and Sophie McCallum, a yoga teacher, have joined forces to create a retreat that combines techniques from their separate disciplines in order to help people make positive changes to their life. Focusing on the mind-body connection, the aim is to help people start to reflect on what is important to them and think about changes they want to make to their wellbeing. As well as breathing techniques, guided visualisation and silent walking meditation, people will be introduced to EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). This simple healing tool involves ‘tapping’ on specific points in the body, similar to acupressure, which helps release negative emotions and beliefs. “We wanted to offer people breathing space and an opportunity to take stock,” says Orosa. “The coaching exercises are a way for people to start exploring their relationship to wellbeing, to discover what might have been holding them back and start to set some realistic and achievable intentions.”
