Winner of Channel 4’s Restoration of the Year after a £12m investment, Cardigan Castle in west Wales is now offering yoga and wellbeing retreats for those looking for a getaway in luxury surroundings. But get in quick: the next retreat takes place on November 5-9. Yoga expert Jenny Beekan, co-founder of UK charity Yoga Trust will be running the five-day retreat, suitable for all levels. The castle will also run a wellbeing weekend from November 9-12 led by Clare Skelton and Sean Dowdall, both experts in Chinese health arts and therapies including Tai Chi and Chi Kung. Guests will stay within the castle grounds overlooking the River Teifi in four-star luxury accommodation, featuring antique furniture and exclusively designed Welsh woollen throws. All meals included and will focus on freshly-prepared, nutritious food served at the castle’s on-site contemporary restaurant run by chef Tom Holden. “This is the first time the Castle will be offering luxury retreats and we promise guests a really memorable stay where they can relax, enjoy delicious food and have some time out,” says Cardigan Castle director, Jac Davies.
