MUST-SEE, WHY?
Andy Serkis replaces Ruben Fleischer as director for this sequel and promises “an extraordinary piece of cinema.” Well, he has got four Oscar nominees in his principal cast, and we can expect some serious smackdowns given Woody Harrelson is playing Cletus Kasady, the serial killer who becomes symbiote Carnage (“He’s a tortured soul,” says producer Avid Arad). It’s also thought that Naomie Harris is playing Carnage’s historic accomplice and love interest Shriek, and Michelle Williams, who is back as Eddie Brock’s ex-fiancée Anne Weying, says she wants more She-Venom action this time around. It will be a lot for Eddie/ Venom to handle, and that’s before you consider that other Sony superheroes like Morbius, Black Cat and Jackpot could cameo, and Marvel’s Kevin Feige says “it seems likely at some point” that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will play a part.
