HOT CHILLI PEPPER FEST

The annual Holker Chilli Festival takes place this year on September 8-9 at Cark-in-Cartmel, Cumbria.

Now in its fifth year, the festival will offer a wide selection of stalls, live entertainment, cookery demonstrations using chillies and the chilli eating competition. Competitors will be battling it out with some of the world’s hottest chillies at 4pm each day.

According to research conducted on behalf of the Common Sense Gardening Group, 47% of gardeners would like to spend less time weeding their gardens. The survey of 1204 adults with gardens also showed that 43% use garden care products to control their weed issues. Gary Philpotts, chair of the Common Sense Gardening Group, said: “This research endorses our mission to better educate people on the important role garden care products play in creating and maintaining a garden.
