YORK VALKYRIE made it three wins out of three in the BetFred Women’s Super League but only after a physical encounter with Warrington Wolves and a player-of-the-game performance from Sinead Peach, writes DAVE PARKINSON.
Don’t be fooled by the final score, this was closer than it would suggest.
York opened scoring after five minutes when Tamzin Renouf and Tara Jane Stanley combined for Liv Whitehead to ground wide out.
Whitehead claimed a second five minutes after Liv Gale’s kick and an offload from Savannah Andrade before Stanley swept around.
Next came the Wolves response, from some patient build-up including big carries from Armani Sharrock and Abi Latchford.
Michelle Davis was held up over the line and two plays later, Lucy Eastwood dummied her way over after 18 minutes. Davis missed the conversion, but Warrington were in the contest.
