Virus attack!
I copied the entire anniversary DVD to a folder. However, Article.html was not copied, but rather put in quarantine because it was infected with JS:Pdfka-AA [Expl] according to my AVG antivirus.
What should I do about this? Is it serious ? Can I use the DVD some other way ? I’ve enclosed a picture of a screen dump from AVG. My AVG is in Danish, so that is why it’s a bit hard to read…

Neil says… Hopefully you’re aware of anti-virus false positives? Looking it up, JS:Pdfka-AA is a PDF exploit in Acrobat Reader v8.1.2 from 2007/2008. Find out more at www.f-secure.com/v-descs/exploit_js_pdfka_ti.shtml.
So we highly doubt a PDF exploit for a 13-year-old version of Windows Acrobat Reader would be hiding in article.html. And even if it were, the chances of you triggering and spreading that virus are very slim.

I’m a long-time subscriber to Linux Format and I’ve been using various distributions of Linux since I managed to install several floppies’ worth of Slackware on a 486 back in 1994!
